Bromley Carnival History

The Bromley Carnival has been established for over 30 years. It was in 1974 that the first Carnival of recent times took place and since then it has confirmed it's position as one of Bromley's biggest family days out.

Throughout the 80's and 90's thousands of people would line the streets every August Bank Holiday Monday to watch the procession that set off from Bromely North to Norman Park.

The entertainment that followed in the park has now become the Fun Day of today. Throughout the years a variety of acts and performers have entertained the crowds. From It's A Knockout to Motorcycle Display Teams, Dog shows to Wild West Shows, Juggleing Men to Britains Strongest Man the Bromley Carnival always aims for a varied and entertaining show for all the family.

The carnival of 2006 was the last to have the procession through the town. The organisers had, in recent years, seen public and business support for the parade decline.

The Bromley Carnival Association were the orginal founders of the event and managed it until the 1992 carnival. It was then taken over by the present day organisers the Bromely Lions Club. A charity fundraising club operated by volunteers.

All proceeds from the Bromley Carnival Funday In The Park goes to the Charity fund of the Bromley Lions Club.
